Little Tokyo - Kikufuji

Last March 27, 2009, VGF Jon and I finally pushed through with our plan to eat at the now INFAMOUS Jap Food district in Makati... Little Tokyo.

Before all the huss and fuss and blog "ingay" about Kikufuji and the other reasonably priced restaurants in the area, Little Tokyo was really just a hole in the wall watering hole for the Japanese community and it's businessmen. I remember going there, circa 2006 or was it 2007, and we barely saw a single Filipino diner there... Now... The parking lot for Little Tokyo was packed with cars... mainly still from the the Jap communities, but the clients consisted of a large amount of Filipino diners...

The food was of course authentic... and it was really just good Japanese food... I wouldn't scream all out for it like I would about Tsumura in Salcedo... But it was reasonably priced and value for the money... Beats Teriyaki Boy and Omakase by a mile and then some...

The interior... Very Dojo noh?! Typical Japanese restaurant...

We decided to sit by the bar... Was hoping to get the seat by the Sashimi area, but sadly to say, it was taken...

Oysters... A little photography shot here and there... Alam mo na...

MMMMMMM... Shake Sashimi... My weakness...

The new Japanes craze in Manila... Spicy Tuna... The meat was extremely tender and just plain out YUUUM!! The "ang hang" - spiciness level was just right... But the spicy tuna from Haiku is still the best for me... MMMMM... Yum!!

Chicken Teriyaki...

Gyudon - The Filipino Favorite
